Proudly Serving Severna Park

As a Severna Park resident, it has been my dream to serve the Severna Park area by opening a martial art school that will teach real and practical self defense, something that every man, woman, and child can benefit from, regardless of age or ability.  I’ve lived in Anne Arundel County for around 20 years and I’ve been involved in martial arts for nearly as long.  What first attracted me to martial arts was my search for a healthy and useful hobby, something that I could do a few days a week to add value to my life and my health.  What I found was much, much more.  Through martial arts, I have discovered an amazing community of positive people, wonderful friends, and methods for defending myself and those around me that are constantly evolving and growing with me as my skill develops.  Nearly twenty years later and I’m still learning — there are truly no limits!  Giving back to the Severna Park community through the passion I have for these arts and their limitless value, has long been my dream and now, through Kogen Dojo that dream is a reality!

We have assembled an amazing team of diversely skilled experts at Kogen Dojo, good folks who want nothing more than to share their passion for and knowledge of a variety of martial arts with you.  What you’ll find here is a safe and clean family friendly environment where diversity and individuality are embraced and celebrated through these arts that we have spent so much of our lives learning and growing with.  Our programs range from practical self defense through Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, fitness and power in Muay Thai, and personal development with combative integrity through Taikyoku Budo.  Our programs are as diverse as our instructors, each adding value to the next with complimentary skills and perspectives to create well-rounded individuals who can protect themselves, their loved ones, and have lots of fun while learning how to do so.
